Obituary:
Helen Silberstein, 88, born January 14, 1922, died January 21, 2010. Preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Dr. Jack Silberstein and daughter, Roberta Anne Silberstein. Survived by sons, Bruce (Marcie) Silberstein, Franklin (Sally Gilbert) Silberstein, and Jonathan (Robyn) Silberstein; brother, Marvin (Margaret) Katz; sister, Joyce (Pat Yellin) Feurring; grandchildren, Michelle (Kevin) Gross, Sharon, Daniel and Scott. Helen attended the Ohio State University then went on to serve in the Navy during WW II. She was President of Agudas Achim Sisterhood as well as a member of Hadassah, National Council of Jewish Women and Israeli Bonds. She served as a docent for the Columbus Museum of Art and read books to the blind. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Friday, January 22nd at THE EPSTEIN MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 3232 E. Main St. with Rabbi Cary Kozberg officiating. Burial will follow at New Agudas Achim Cemetery. Shiva will be observed Sunday through Wednesday from 6 to 9 PM with services at 7 PM at Jon and Robyn Silberstein’s residence. Memorial contributions are preferred to Wexner Heritage House, Zusman Community Hospice, Shalom House, or the Alzheimer’s Association.
